I just wanted to voice my appreciation for all the Overdrive eBooks you offer. I discovered them a couple of months ago, and have found reading eBooks on my iPhone to be a very enjoyable experience. While I love having a physical library to visit, with bookshelves to browse and places to read or work, there are times when I also appreciate being able to check out and return books without having to drive to the library. Plus eBooks seem to cut down on the wait time, which is really nice when you are interested in a popular book. Thanks so much for making this service available, and I look forward to seeing what additional books are added to the virtual "collection" in 2011. (1/11)

Today was the Arvada Library's "Make My Day" event. Let me explain…I stopped in the Arvada Library to check out a requested DVD. After visiting briefly with Ronna, I reached for my wallet—it was missing. You know that sinking feeling when everything you need and use daily, credit cards, driver's license, etc. are gone. I retraced all my stops including the Apex Center—nothing. So I made urgent calls to the many credit card companies and was planning a trip to the DMV in the morning to apply for a new driver's license. As a last resort I drove back to the library. And there at the front counter was Linda, with a mischievous smile asking if I was looking for something. She recognized me. She had the wallet intact. Unknown to me I had dropped it on the carpet in front of the counter. Security guard Clara found it and promptly turned it in to Linda. What a relief! Clara and Linda deserve recognition for their honesty and attention. Linda called several times but our line was always busy cancelling the credit cards. (1/11)

Nikki (at Columbine) was extremely helpful. I only use the kid's section but today I needed a book from the adult section. I tried on my own without success. Nikki not only answered my questions – she got up and walked me back to the section I needed. It made what could have been a very frustrating day into a very pleasant experience at the library. The baby storytime at Arvada Library is a wonderful asset to our community. The librarians do a variety of stories and songs that are fun for babies, moms, dads, and grandparents alike. I wanted to drop a note to tell you that I love how well JCPL has integrated internet access into its operations. Being able to reserve a book online and simply march into my branch to pick it up is incredibly convenient, and saves me from having to navigate the Dewey Decimal System, which has always been a hassle. My branch (Wheat Ridge) also has a really convenient check-out system, which just makes things better. I do have a suggestion: For me, Friday afternoons would seem like the perfect time to pick up books, I'm getting off of work and want to do some reading over the weekend. But the WR branch is always closed on Fridays. I'll assume that this is due to a funding issue, but it's still a bummer. Overall, of course, the system works very well for me. Hope and I appreciate the service the JCPL Bookmobile provides seniors at Covenant Village of Colorado. Beyond the "service with a smile," Rich and Rebecca know and greet us by our first names and are able to get any specialty books we want, such as books on wood working and fly tying. The Evergreen children's department does an excellent job with storytime. My daughter is almost three and loves the 10:15 a.m. story hour on Wednesday. Thank you! We both like the changes at Lakewood. We like the self-checkout area and other changes. I am especially happy with the large print section now. It is light enough to see, and there is room enough to move around. The top shelf was always so high for we older people and standing on the stool was shaky for me. I am always impressed by how Jefferson County Libraries and especially the Belmar Library manage to operate a "first class, professional organization." It's more than just running a good library. It's the people who make it possible; it's the combination of the uses of technology that Belmar and your other branches are using; it has something to do with how you select materials and how you always seem to have the customer first in mind. I came out of customer service organization and so I know what good service looks like. Belmar is that much and more. I can't think of any better place for my tax dollars to go than the Belmar Library. (1/08)

Rebecca and Rich are usually the helpers who work in the Bookmobile that visits our assisted living facility. They are both so knowledgeable and so pleasant and so kind to us and with us. They know us by name and remember our reading preferences and make suggestions about titles that we might like. I just wanted to comment on the wonderful service. I recently called the Columbine Library just as a general inquiry, and the lady there said there was no need for me to go to the library, she would handle my request over the phone. Additionally, I made a suggestion regarding a book to purchase on tape, and it appears that you already have it in circulation and someone did the nice gesture of requesting it for me. Hello! I just had to write and share with you how two librarians at Standley Lake went far above and beyond to help me find the title of a children's book that my husband loved as a child and wanted to share with our young son, Will. The only information I had was that it was a Richard Scarry book with pickles randomly placed on each page. (11/07)
I soon received a call that the two librarians had found a review for a book that sounded just like what I had described, Richard Scarry's Postman Pig and His Busy Neighbors! It was no longer in print and our library didn't have it, but I was told that I could purchase it used. Needless to say, I ordered the book (for less that a dollar!) and my husband and I can't wait to get it and share it with our son. (11/07)
