Harv is the owner of Tree Climbing Colorado and is also a master instructor in recreational tree climbing. He will give you an introduction to this fun activity. Author Marcia Hensley Comes to Lakewood

by:
Bethany

Back in the early 1900s, parts of Colorado, and other locations in the region, were still very much the Wild West. For many women, suffrage and other women's rights issues weren't high on the list of priorities. Instead, these women of the frontier seized the opportunity to become landowners. In her book Staking Her Claim: Women Homesteading the West, author Marcia Hensley shares stories from these women through letters and articles from that time.

Join us at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4 at the Lakewood Library to hear directly from the author about some of these amazing stories. Reservations are not required.
