Got Plans for Family Volunteer Day?

This Saturday is Family Volunteer Day. Haven't heard of it? Neither had I, until I was having a conversation with someone who works with Metro Volunteers. To my surprise, this event has been going on for 22 years! It always takes place the Saturday before Thanksgiving, a great way to start off the season of giving.

This year's Family Volunteer Day event takes place from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Children's Museum of Denver (this event is free, but you'll need to pay an admission fee if you want to do more at the Museum). Metro Volunteers will have projects you can work on and there will be more than 15 other organizations that offer volunteer opportunties for the whole family in attendance. While JCPL won't be at this event, we are always looking for volunteers and have several opportunities for various age groups.

Share this information with your friends and family, and think about volunteering your time and talents in the community!
