Bethany

Haven't been out to see our new Bookmobile service in the Ken Caryl area? Join us for a celebratory Open House from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23. We will have fun for the whole family, including face painting from 2-3 p.m., a special storytime at the neighboring McDonald's at 3 p.m., and a balloon artist from 3:30-4 p.m. Local merchants will also be providing refreshments and special offers, including  $4 Papa Murphy pizza offers with proof of library card, free It’s All Peachy frozen yogurt coupons, free dog treats and water provided by Ken Caryl Pet Spa, and drinks from McDonald's.

The Bookmobile began service in the Ken Caryl Ranch area on July 12, and now provides weekly Saturday service from 12-4 p.m. in the Safeway parking lot at the Ken Caryl and Shaffer St. shopping center. Patrons can place and pick up holds, check out materials from our collection of fiction, nonfiction, and media for all ages, and learn more about other library resources.

We hope to see you there!

Gregory Hill Returns to Jeffco

by:
Bethany

If you missed local author Gregory Hill when he was in Conifer in June, you're in luck! He will be visiting the Lakewood Library's Thursday Night Book Group at 6 p.m. Aug. 5. He will discuss his book East of Denver

Mixing pathos and humor in equal measure East of Denver is an unflinching novel of rural America, a poignant, darkly funny tale about a father and son finding their way together as their home and livelihood inexorably disappears.

The event is free and open to the public.
