May 30 - All libraries will be closed for Memorial Day.
We've got a great event happening in a few weeks at the Arvada Library. Join us from 6-8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20 for our first ever Books and Bites night. More than 30 local authors will be on hand for you to talk with. Kids, teens, fiction, non-fiction, history, sci-fi…nearly every genre will be covered!
Talking to all these amazing authors may work up your appetite. Not to worry, though, there will be some great food trucks out in Olde Town Square for you to replenish your energy. Sample delicious fare from Hey PB&J, Scrumptious, CKrepes and Eighty Ate while you're there!
And lest we not forget, the always entertaining Suzi-Q will be there displaying her face painting talents for the kids.
Make sure you peruse our blogs for spotlights on some of the authors participating in Books and Bites:
Didn't sign up in time for the Soft Circuitry MakeSomething workshop? Fear not! There are several more opportunities to create something unexpected.
We've got an Open MakerSpace Lab happening from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23 at the Belmar Library. SparkFun Electronics will have Inventor Kits available for circuitry and programming basics, as well as some other soft circuit supplies that will let you take your sewing projects up a notch. Experts from The Concoctory will also be on hand to assist you. Feel free to come by to work on your own stuff too!
Get ready for next month when our friends at Campus Cycles, Sparkfun Electronics and The Concoctory join us for a Bike Lights instructional session. Dusk is falling earlier with each passing day – make sure your bike is properly lit and cruise in safety. Registration is required and is now open.
Another Open Lab will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20. Our partners will be joining us again offering their skilled instruction. Bring your bike in and get tips from the experts on maintaining and repairing your ride.
These events are designed for adults, but anyone is welcome. Anyone under 12 needs to be accompanied by an adult who is also registered for the event. Open Labs do not require registration.
We will be offering more MakeSomething events through the end of the year, so keep your eyes peeled for future classes.
