Fall brings up many thoughts for people – cooler weather, pumpkin spice lattes, health insurance. That last one can cause a great deal of stress for people if they aren’t offered coverage through their employer. If you’re thinking of navigating through the options available under the Affordable Care Act, we will once again have staff from Jeffco Human Services available to assist you at the Belmar Library. They will give your some background on the program, and if you’re ready, sign you up through the Connect for Health Colorado online marketplace.
Appointments aren’t required, but can be made by calling 303-271-4691.
Keeping up with your family and friends can be difficult. Add in the fact that so many people communicate digitally and you add another layer of complication. Luckily, we’re here to help you navigate the waters of online conferencing.
Join us for a live, interactive demonstration of a few popular and free video conferencing apps (applications), geared towards seniors to help you connect with your family and friends in a more lively way.
Election day is Tuesday, November 4 -- just a week from today. If you haven't voted yet, now is the time to have your say in this important election, where Colorado will be deciding its next Governor; U.S. Senator; U.S. Representatives; Colorado Attorney General, Secretary of State, and Treasurer; all Colorado House seats; and many Colorado Senate seats; as well as several significant ballot issues, the retention of many of Colorado's judges, and a number of local issues.
There is still time to make your voice heard this election. For the first time, Colorado is allowing same-day registration -- meaning you can register to vote on election day. Also for the first time this year, all voting is by mail-in ballot. For polling locations, voter registration and more, check out our 2014 Election Guide.
This literary-inspired event features a costume contest, buffet dinner, dancing and a silent auction. Proceeds from the event will benefit local libraries in Clear Creek, Jefferson and Park Counties. Folks must be 21 to attend.
Online registrations, at $20 apiece, will be accepted through Oct. 30, or people can pay $25 at the door the night of the event.

Saturday is a great day to come for leisurely shopping without the big crowds that attend Friday and Sunday morning. Sunday is Bag Day, where $6 buys as many items as will fit in a grocery-sized bag. Additionally, for just $5 you can purchase unopened boxes of paperback romance and hardback fiction books during the entire sale.
