Mary O'Neil

Director of Administrative Services

Mary joined Jefferson County Public Library as associate director of employee relations and development in September 2010. In 2012, she became the director of administrative services and her duties were expanded to include finance and administration. In 2013, her duties were again expanded to include facilities management. She is responsible for finance, budgeting, accounting, payroll, risk management, facilities management, human resources and employee relations, training and development and the volunteer program. Prior to working for JCPL, Mary worked for Jefferson County Human Services as a Training Manager. Mary has worked in leadership positions in human resources and strategic management at YMCA of the Rockies; the Colorado Branch of Volunteers of America; the American Red Cross, Greater Palm Beach Area Chapter; and the National Council on Compensation Insurance. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. Mary is an advocate for children’s issues and public education. She has served in leadership positions with Colorado Heritage Camps and a number of school-based committees and boards. In 2013, she was appointed to the Mill Levy Oversight Committee for Denver Public Schools. Mary holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Kentucky (1980) and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Colorado (1989).
