(Golden, Colo. – May 6, 2014) Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) needs your input to come up with the new layout and design for the Golden Library. We invite residents and library patrons to joins us at an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 19 at the Golden Library, 1019 10th St.
“The open house is designed to spark input and discussion on what people would like to see at the library,” said Donna Walker, public services director, JCPL. “We want to make sure the remodel reflects the wants and needs of the Golden community.”
Residents will be invited to provide input on the library services they’d like to see, help to define the look and feel of the remodel design, and learn more about the project plans and timeline. This will be accomplished through a number of interactive stations set up to solicit feedback on key project elements. Participants will also be invited to complete an online survey on the proposed remodel.
“This is a critical component of the design process,” Walker continued. “We’ll share the feedback with our design firm, to inform their design process, and we’ll give residents a chance to review and comment on the design recommendations before they’re finalized,” she added.
Library executives will present an overview of the new library service model at the Golden City Council meeting which begins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 22 in Council Chambers, 911 10th St. (The presentation was moved from the May 8 City Council meeting due to the number of agenda items planned for that night.)
The library expects to share preliminary design plans for the Golden library remodel in June, finalize plans in July, begin construction in August and complete the remodel by the end of the year.
