(LAKEWOOD, Colo.—July 29, 2013)The Jefferson County Library Foundation will hold its 13th Annual Rare & Novel Night at Bandimere Speedway at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22. This year’s “Rock, Race & Read” event will once again give guests the chance to burn up the quarter mile in a Z28 Camaro on Thunder Mountain.

Tickets are $65 to attend and $250 to attend and race; all tickets include hors d’oeuvres, dinner, live entertainment by Jefferson County Public Library’s Stacy McKenzie, and silent and live auctions. Guests will have a chance to win a condo in Steamboat Springs for a week; a privately catered BBQ, featuring a variety of Craft Beers; a Wine Cellar; signed and framed pictures of Stephen King and Peyton Manning; a condo in Maui for a week; and much more, including rare and vintage books.

A surprise celebrity guest racer from KYGO will be on hand for the evening and anyone who buys a ticket to race will be entered to win a chance to go up against them. KYGO will also be giving away tickets to Rare & Novel on air.

“After last year’s success at Bandimere Speedway, we are looking forward to what the 2013 Rare & Novel Night will bring,” said Foundation Executive Director Natalie Martinez. “Rare & Novel is our premier fundraising event and we are excited to be partnering with KYGO to help literacy efforts in Jefferson County.”

Proceeds from the event help support children and teen literacy programs at the Library, such as Summer Reading Club and the Traveling Children’s Library.

“Supporting early literacy efforts is something the Bandimere Family strongly believes in,” said Tami Bandimere Shrader, president of the Jeffco Library Foundation Board of Directors. “We are confident this year’s event will go miles to improve literacy among the children of Jefferson County.”

This night is made possible by the generous support of Bandimere Speedway and the Bandimere Family Foundation, KYGO, 1st Bank, Brookfield Residential, the Town of Morrison and Richard Billings.
