Jefferson County Public Library to Hold Community Meetings

"Libraries around the country are coming under siege, and JCPL is no exception," said JCPL Executive Director Marcellus Turner. "We're facing a perfect storm of budget challenges that will require us to reduce our operating budget by approximately $3 million over the next two years.
"In the short term, our goal is to provide patrons the highest level of service we can afford," Turner continued. "For the longer term, we hope to enlist the public in helping us explore creative ways to sustain and expand library services in Jefferson County."
The purpose of the upcoming community meetings is to solicit input from library patrons and other Jefferson County residents and to respond to community concerns. Meetings are currently scheduled for the following dates and times.
