Tax Forms and Free Tax Help Offered at JCPL
(Lakewood, Colo. - Feb. 2, 2012) Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) will once again be offering free tax assistance to taxpayers this year. The Library offers many resources for individuals who require help filing their tax returns.
JCPL partnered with AARP to offer free counseling and preparation assistance to all taxpayers, with special attention to those ages 60 and older. From February through mid-April, IRS-certified volunteers will be at several library locations to help with any tax-related issues people may have. Reservations are not required, but space is limited for this popular series, so patrons are encouraged to arrive early. Location, time and date information can be found at
jeffcolibrary.org/taxes.
Printed copies of state and federal tax forms and instruction books will be available at all JCPL locations while supplies last. JCPL is one of the few locations still offering hard copies of these forms.
The Wheat Ridge Library will be holding a Tax Talk program at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 10, featuring a representative from a local tax service who will share important changes you need to be aware of when preparing your 2011 tax returns.
More detailed tax information can also be found on the Library's website at
